IF THE LAST CHANCE WASTED

It is in memoriam, when the ricefield outstretched throughout the villages, when fresh-wind romantically blew, when the noisy rainfall showed its cherries, when the forest so greenish, and when the air could safely be breathed. Everything is vanishing nowadays and if we forget to use our last chance to change our way of life starting right now, those will be completely disappeared.
LET'S THINK IT MUCH. We aren't either scientists or witch persons. But we can easily predict the future will be if we don't use our chance to save the earth, Can we? Floods, earthquakes, tsunami, and other disasters maybe are the blowing of nature's horn and the warning of God that today is the last chance.
Simply, when water are polluted more and more whereas the amount of virgin water left are reduced over years. Then, there is no valuable and serious effort to solve the problem. Sooner or later, it is predicted someday in the future, the earth water will be completely polluted. People could no longer drink water, and they have to use other type of liquids. This forced a change, but it is not enough. Elaborating this statement, we all have already known that scientist warned about over population and said that in the future there might be too many people on the earth. But not enough has been done.
So, then several years next, there are so many people that food become scarce. There will be no water to grow food and all of the fish in the lake and oceans will die because of pollution. Terrible wars break out between the wealthy and the poor. People start to think about finding another place to live. At that time, the scientists would be working very hard to find another planet in space where human can survive.
Meanwhile, let's see another hesitant. This is about the greenhouse effect. Green house effect is the heat that normally radiates blocked by carbon dioxide. Because of that, the sea level temperature would dramatically increase. Then the icecaps at both the north and the south poles would increase dramatically melting. The oceans would rice and almost all of the world major cities would flood. Then one-third of earth's billions in land are famine, fighting, chaos and disease on scale that almost impossible to imagine.
Then, how about the air? What will it be if the last chance wasted? It mostly can be predict that the air will be too polluted for humans to breath. So we have to leave the earth. But only the very wealthy are able to leave. Where will we go? No where and everywhere. Do you see? The scientists cannot find another safe planet, so we must travel around the universe in our space ships. We are still looking for a space to call our home.
Actually, these frightening situations also have been predicted by most scientists. They are nowadays warning. A few people are worrying about it. They talks about the dangers of pollution, the danger of nuclear power, eco terrorism, acid rain, and green house effect. Numbers of deals has been issued, numbers of plan established, and number of technology are invented to save the earth.
However, most people do not listen and do not change their way of life. Instead, they are continuing to dump dangerous chemicals and other waste into lakes and oceans, to drive more and more cars and trucks and to cut down the trees. How great effort have been done are useless if those bad habits continuously happen. Someone says that we don’t have to worry because scientist always finds answer to our problem. Some says like this: "I understand that we need to change, but I don’t want to give up the comfortable and convenient life I have now." And the most terrible there is someone says "I don’t care. I won't be around in the future". What do you think if all people in the world acting this way. That's so irresponsible, that’s so insane, and that’s so disgusting.
The dramatic climate change is one of the provable evidence that in this recent time the both pole are now melting. So, we would definitely change our lifestyle. We should think about the environment more. We have to start changing the way we live, little by little. Let's think about what we can do today!
Here the suggestion for changing our lifestyle. We don’t exactly know how it should work! Sometimes that's easy to do, sometimes hard and sometimes seem impossible to be done. Let's start from our daily activities, we can use less gasoline, use less solar or electric, use less electricity for example: don’t stay up late night. Another way you may use less forest land for cattle. Stop using disposable products is better, recycle more, reuse more and control the population sufficient supporting our lifestyle changing.
In the other hand, in many big cities, such as Seoul, Taipe, Tokyo, and of course Indonesia there is a flood of cars, trucks and buses on the street. This has caused terrible air pollution. The pollution has already caused serious damage to the earth's environment and it will get worse and worse. So the entire nation especially Indonesia should do what Singapore has done. The government has simply made it very expensive to own and drive a car in Singapore. And there is a big tax of gasoline. It can be such an effective way to reduce air pollution. Beside that, I think the governments should have a number of wise policy to save the earth.
May be those are a few things that we can do in our last chance. The last but not least, it is up to you to change the history. The horrifying prediction is only a prediction if the last chance un-wasted. and I hope it is not going to be a real mare. We must down the earth to save the earth and the future. It's not too late to change. |
